1. PINEAPPLE SCIENTIFIC NAME : Ananas comosus Merr.

Bromelain is a complex mixture of substances that can be extracted from the stem and core fruit of the pineapple. Among dozens of components known to exist in this crude extract, the best studied components are a group of protein-digesting enzymes (called cysteine proteinases).Pineapple is an excellent source the trace mineral manganese, which is an essential cofactor in a number of enzymes important in energy production and antioxidant defenses. Studies show that bromelain has the potential to act as an effective cancerfighting agent. It also contains beta-carotene, which can protect against prostate cancer and possibly colon cancer and anti-inflammatory properties of bromelain. Pineapple contains

several beneficial vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, beta carotene, copper, zinc, and folate.

2. GUAVA SCIENTIFIC NAME : Psidium guajava L.

Guavas are one of the richest sources of vitamin C, containing four times the vitamin C content present in oranges. The anti-cancer or anti-tumour property of guavas has been linked to presence of compounds including lycopene, quercitin, vitamin C and various polyphenols present in them.
